Man’s house in floodwaters for second time
A house in the floodwaters of Jammu and Kashmir’s Gulmarg district is back on its former glory after a man had it restored in its former location.
The man, who was unable to get access to the property for repairs, returned to his home on Sunday after restoring the home.
The restoration is the second in a few weeks after a flood damaged the house.
The first restoration took place on April 25 after a cyclone made landfall in the district.
The next time the man wants to get in touch with the authorities is for a new repair, said his wife, Shoma.
“I cannot give him any details,” she said.
“We will wait and see what happens.”
The house, which was built in the 19th century, is a historic building.
“There are some sections of the house which were damaged, but we have not found any damage,” said resident Mohammad Zafar.
“It is safe.
We will continue to do repairs and repair work as soon as the flood is over.”
